Capacity building

Capacity building

The network is active in strengthening the capacity of its members. One example is the SHAREFRAME process: Sexual development, Hiv/Aids and Reproductive health Education Framework.

Goal of the initiative is to establish a common framework for future interventions and consistent communication messages in the area of sexual reproductive health & rights and HIV/AIDS. This framework enhances networking and linking and learning among the current Educaids partners in Kenya. Shareframe follows the principles of the Intervention Mapping protocol, a methodology based on the use of sound theories and evidence. The protocol has been applied earlier by WPF, through the develoment of a support tool for intervention development together with the University of Maastricht for the Dutch organization Stop Aids Now. This tool was field-tested in South Africa, with Oxfam Novib in mainstreaming HIV/AIDS in India and in developing a communication strategy with a network of NGOs in Vietnam.

In Shareframe, partners work together in a research activity, focussed on the context and needs of their respective target groups.

The Educaids partners in Kenya and Uganda were involved in the Shareframe process, and they are now using the evidence obtained through Shareframe in developing so-called Educaids workplans, for the improvement of their educational programmes and for lobby & advocacy. The network in Malawi started with Shareframe in March 2010. In these Shareframe trajectories, Educaids cooperates with WPF (World Population Foundation).
