Educaids’ ultimate target group is young people (children and youth). Concerning age, we have to consider that children quite often are already sexually active at the age of 12, 13; sometimes even earlier. We can also notice a strong increase in HIV infections among the age group starting from 15; girls are more likely to become infected. To prepare children for a safe sexual and reproductive life, CSE programmes should address children already at the age of 10-14. The fear that sexuality education for this age group will invite children to experiment with sex is not justified. On the contrary, there is clear evidence that open discussion about sexuality in CSE programmes delays sexual activity.
